The fans pay good money to go watch the game and should be able to show their feelings toward how the team plays.

Just because you pay for something doesn't give you the excuse to behave boorishly. I have a severe distaste for those that believe that their financial involvement of something earns them some kind of privelege or right above the rules, whether it be something as hard and fast as the law, or something slightly more subtle like etiquette.

I agree that Vicks shouldn't have done what he did. But excusing the fans of responsibility in any regard, even in the slightest, is simply poor.

"It takes two to tango."

I agree that it is exciting to know science has advanced to the point where such a venture is possible. However, I'm not sure I would support actually establishing and maintaining a permanent outpost there, because that would obviously take a huge amount of money that could be put to more practical use in education or public health care programs.

I don't think that Vick should have done this no matter how frustrated he was or from being booed. The fans pay good money to go watch the game and should be able to show their feelings toward how the team plays. Even though sometimes the fans do go too far, the player has to just walk away and not acknowledge the fan. Vick should have handled it better and just walked off the field without doing anything.

Perhaps the crowd - comprised of parents and children, should not be inciting our 'role models' to such hand gestures by misbehaving as such. Although it seems like the thing to do - booing is impolite, as is heckling.

Frankly, I think the people in the crowds of our athletes and entertainers that can't keep their mouths shut and enjoy the game are more wrong. You try being a 'role model' to millions of people, while enduring hateful and spiteful remarks from stupid people and see how collected you are when you are already tired and frustrated from putting forth a tremendous physical effort, and still losing.

Sports stars, entertainers, politicians, teachers should not be held responsbile for being examples for our children - as much as we would like them to be it is the parents, the proginators that need to be role models and educators. Youth today are raised by television by a generation of people who work for two incomes and pursue material fufillment. See how responsible they are in public arena now - my generation and the one that is currently following it disgusts me for the most part.

Mike Vick, in his general life is a decent role model. Simply because he has been angered should not go to discount his value as a person and the list of good works he has done with his success and fame.

this kind of information is so sad and freaks me out. with all the technology today you would think we could find a way to function and not be so distructive. At least the ozone is getting better right? hopefully there is some way to repair the damage we have done.

It seems like this story is just another example of the dehumanizing effects of war. Reading about how casually this atrocity was planned makes me wonder how often things like this quietly happen without anyone finding out. Otherwise, what Dana says is true--it's getting harder to trust people, and I think that is what's causing so much isolation and loneliness.

that is really sad and gross. it seems like either the media focuses more on that today, or the number of these actions within our nation has increased- especially in those we are supposed to look up to. it is hard to believe that they sat around thinking this up. that makes me feel like they aren't even human and we cant trust anyone which is really sad and paranoid :(
